Once you acquire reading, writing and basic arithmetic skills, you can self-educate yourself using two resources; Secondary Research resources and Primary Research resources.
The Secondary Research resources, are the various medium used by other humans to transmit their knowledge/cultures. These medium include; print (books, websites, magazines, newspapers, etc.), visual (videos, pictures, movies, plays, etc.) and sound (music, lectures, stories, presentations, seminars, etc.).
The Primary Research resources are your natural senses of sight, sound, touch/pain, smell and taste. Individuals use these natural senses to test and/or verify the knowledge/culture being transmitted by other humans via the above mentioned Secondary Research resources. This process is also known as “Critical Thinking”, and helps individuals form their own knowledge/cultures for personal use.
Unlike formal education, which is controlled and provided by collectivist institutions, Self-education is self-directed and self-planned, and the Secondary Research medium you use, such as this website, simply provide you with a starting point in search of various knowledge that may be of interest to you.
This website is designed to provide you with a wide variety of starting points, by covering a wide variety of knowledge/cultures, that have been used historically by humans in their quest for survival.
Unlike formal institutional education, you are on your own, and this requires an ability to be self-disciplined, in order to successfully pursue a self-study program.
The word “Jitegemee” in the Kiswahili language, when translated to the English language, means “depend on yourself”. This is the reason that Ngarua Services education division is named “Jitegemee University”, and the University’s motto is “depend on yourself”. The aim of this website is to provide you with resources to start or continue your self-education journey.
