Derivative intermediary Sector

Definition of derivative per online Oxford Languages

Something that is based on another source, i.e. an arrangement or instrument whose value derives from and is dependent on the value of an underlying asset.  (e.g. monetary currency, monetary gold, stocks, bonds, etc).

SELF-RELIANCE/SELF-SUFFICIENCY TRADE

In societies where Self-reliance and Self-sufficiency cultures are valued, the producer of value directly exchanges value with another value producer, eliminating the intermediaries, also known as “middle men” (e.g. banks, retailers, wholesalers, derivative owners, etc).

DERIVATIVE TRADE

Derivatives, such as currency (money), stocks and bonds have no actual value.  They derive their value from trade goods and services, and its eventual value cannot be known until the actual conversion to a good or service.  Derivatives are owned and managed by intermediary organizations.

My definition of intermediary organizations

Through-out  my published content, I have labeled organizations formed by a group of individual stakeholders, to perform tasks that are better done as a group instead of individually (e.g. governments, religious organizations, etc), as well as trading entities (e.g. corporations) as “intermediary organizations”.  My research shows that, historically, these organization have only been sustainable in the long term when they have the following culture;

  1. objective decision making processes
  2. are limited to specific  in-demand tasks, goods and services
  3. operate in a decentralized competitive environment
  4. are not the main source of survival resources for those that own, manage and/or administer them.

 An overwhelming majority of the intermediary organizations operating today fail this simple test, and are therefore not sustainable, and will fail, sooner or later.

Furthermore, my research shows that historically, societies where “collectivist” cultures are dominant within the population, it creates increased demand for intrusive intermediary institutions that intervene in increasingly more areas of an individual’s life.

Many of the intermediary institutions, today, are not in business in order to provide a better quality good or service to the individual, than they would be able to provide for themselves via a self-sustenance based economy, but because they give a small group of “elites” a wealth advantage.
