Food is any substance, consumed to provide nutritional support for an organism. Food is usually of plant or animal origin, and contains essential nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals. The substance is ingested by an organism and assimilated by the organism’s cells to provide energy, maintain life, or stimulate growth.

My definition of intermediary organizations
Through-out my published content, I have labeled organizations formed by a group of individual stakeholders, to perform tasks that are better done as a group instead of individually (e.g. governments, religious organizations, etc), as well as trading entities (e.g. corporations) as “intermediary organizations”. My research shows that, historically, these organization have only been sustainable in the long term when they have the following culture;
- objective decision making processes
- are limited to specific in-demand tasks, goods and services
- operate in a decentralized competitive environment
- are not the main source of survival resources for those that own, manage and/or administer them.
An overwhelming majority of the intermediary organizations operating today fail this simple test, and are therefore not sustainable, and will fail, sooner or later.
